To the girl that’s starting a business

I see you, girl! You've got big dreams you're ready to accomplish, and you probably wish they were already accomplished. We humans tend to want everything right now, right?

But, I'm here to tell you that it takes time to grow a business. There's no such thing as an "overnight success". Trust me, that's a good thing!

You've probably heard of the phrase "Slow and steady wins the race" and that is so true. Because when you're rushing and trying to get all the things done at once, you burn out. You lose momentum.

But. When you take your time, focusing on one thing at a time, you'll get so much more done and later you'll see how it'll all come together.

I have confidence in telling you this because I've tried to have "overnight success", but it doesn't work, sister. I've tried to do all the things, all the time. I ended up getting frustrated and burnt out.

But when I took my time, focusing on one task at a time, I got so much more done and it paid off in the long run!

Here's what I want you to do:

Choose one area of your business to focus on each week. You could even do daily or monthly, but let's just use weeks as an example here.

If you're a photographer, you could use one week to meet with clients for their sessions, and the next focus on editing and social media marketing. If you're a blogger, you could focus one week one writing and the next week on marketing. If you're an online shop owner, you could focus one week on developing a product line/making products for your shop and the next week you could focus on adding the products to your shop, taking photos, marketing the products, etc.

The whole point of saying all this is this:

Focusing on one thing at a time will get you farther than doing all the things at once. Why? Because you can give each task your full attention.

Overall, you need to do what's best for you and your business. This is just an example of how I kind of do things for Shop Happies. I have to focus on one thing at a time, otherwise I'll get distracted and overwhelmed.

I want you to know that you CAN do this. That dream is in your heart for a reason so don't ignore it. It will take time to grow and probably longer than expected. But that is OKAY. Keep working on it with all you've got. Keep taking daily steps to get to where you want to be.

I'd love to know what business you're wanting to start, so feel free to drop it in the comments so I can personally pray for you and your business. I believe in you, sister!
