3 ways to help make your home more "you" - shop happies home decor blog

Both waffle prints available on www.shophappies.com

1. Choose a color scheme

What are you favorite colors? Pick 1-3 cohesive colors you love, and stick with those when picking out decor pieces like pillows, home accents, blankets, art, etc.⁣

For example, I really love the minty green / blue colors and I have that color scattered throughout the house in my kitchen, bedroom, and office. It truly makes my spaces feel more like me.

2. Discover your decor "style" and stick to it⁣

Are you a farmhouse kind of gal, or more mid century modern or eclectic? Figure out what styles you truly love and stick to them throughout your home.⁣

I'm a farmhouse AND an eclectic kind of girl. I mix the two styles, so don't feel like you have to pick just one! You can totally mix them to make it your own!⁣

3. Last but not least, choose artwork that reflect your personality and style

Prints with fun phrases and illustrations that match your personality are the perfect way to bring a little bit of "you" to the walls of your home.⁣

Maybe you like funny prints to make each day a little happier. Or colorful illustrations to inspire you.⁣

I have a gallery wall in my office and it's an eclectic style with colorful frames, art ranging from photography to typography to illustration art. It feels like "me" because each piece of art speaks to me personally in some way.⁣

These are just a few simple things you can do to add some personality to your space. Have fun and happy decorating!

Hi y'all! I'm Allyson and I wanted to personally welcome you to the blog, a place where you'll find home decor ideas, tips and tricks, short devotionals, freebies and so much more. I'm a Tennessee gal in her twenties with a love for design, all things home, and of course, coffee!

When I'm not writing or creating artwork for the shop, you'll find me either at church, on the treadmill, baking in the kitchen or curled up reading a good book.
